Dolph Ziggler Speaks About How He Got Interested In Comedy

It is a well known fact that the position which the WWE wrestler Dolph Ziggler enjoys, is enjoyed by only a few other pro wrestlers. He has become successful due to his sheer courage and determination. It is not so well known that Ziggler also does stand up comedies. He does on stage stand up comedy whenever he is not doing a WWE show.

Ziggler was asked since when he became interested in comedy and he said that when he was 5 years old his father had to work on night shifts and at that time he used to enjoy watching Johnny Carson. He said that he couldn’t understand the exact meaning of what was being said but he would enjoy watching it nevertheless. He also enjoyed watching records of Cheech and Chong. He also enjoyed watching Saturday Night Live show reruns which used to appear on Nickelodeon. He also very much enjoyed watching movies like Caddyshack, Fletch etc.

As mentioned earlier, Ziggler couldn’t understand jokes being said on SNL when he was young but at the end of the 1980’s he could understand the SNL jokes. Ziggler has said that he is a huge admirer of Jan Hooks, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey and Phil Hartman. He said that he also liked Adam Sandler’s performances. Two of Ziggler’s comedy idols are Brian Regan and George Wallace. He still watches performances of the aforementioned comedians whenever he can. It is for both of them that Ziggler became interested in comedy. Ziggler also likes Johnny Carson very much. He still listens to a certain Johnny Carson recording. He said that as a result of listening to that particular recording, he is able to insult an individual almost instantly. He also likes it very much to recommend comedians to people who do not know anything about them on social networking sites.
